Today in WMH: “Brother Reginald, Take a Note…”

5/21 Today in Weird Music History: 1170.   St. Godric of Finchale dies, aged 105.  Though the holy man/composer of hymns was illiterate, he dictated his music to other monks. His music is believed to be the earliest written in the English language.  Known popularly as St. Godric, he was apparently never canonized.
