Gershwin does keep popping up,doesn’t he? “Rhapsody in Blue” was one of the first LPs my dad bought when we got our first stereo – along with the ping-pong ball demonstration record. I loved the Gershwin, but only recently am coming to appreciate how truly influential he was.
